A Blue Card for a Blue Girly

I am indeed a blue girly this week.  My brave collie lost his battle with epilepsy.  An odd week where I feel I shouldn't be sat making cards, but I guess any freedom from the chains of thoughts is good.  Now that's enough sadness - I didn't come here to make others blue.

I managed to make this card for four challenges this week.  I am impressed with myself.  The image is one I won from Kenny K.

 So here we go:
Bloom and Grow over at Kenny K Krafty Girlz
Fab sketch over at Sketch Saturday
For mum/female relative over at Passion for Promarkers
Ribbons and Bows over at I love Promarkers

RIP Brockett Bartlett - I love you, I love you, I LOVE YOU x

DIY or make a DIY card ?

I should be doing DIY !  I am sat in a lounge with stripped walls, plaster hanging off, unpainted window boards and holes that need filling.  Instead inspiration leads me cardmaking...oh well, I can link the two courtesy of Kenny's image !

It's Spring Zing week over on Kenny K's.  A good excuse to play with yellow.

Thought I'd add a bit of undecorated room for effect on the photos...
and remember all you single girlies out there with DIY to do - You've got the power flower !

Dare not to be Square

Oh what a beauty of a prize over at Saturated Canary's challenge.  How could I not enter ?
I'd coloured the freebie image a few weeks back and just couldn't decide what to do with it.  The challenge this week is not square or rectangular.  Oval it is then !

Inspired to Distress

Whilst I was blog hopping I came across a card over on Saturated Canary's challenge.  Well it inspired me to try  and have a go with the darker colour end of my ProMarkers.  It is nowhere near as good as the card that inspired me...but I tried.  At the same time I had my first go at distressing paper.  This fitted in nicely with the challenge over on Passion for ProMarkers.  This is my only challenge entry for this card...but I am not too worried...I'm just pleased to progress my colouring skills.

It's a Pink One

My friend's sister had a baby girl on Friday...a pink one.  I do love baby cards - the simplicity of them.

I didn't intend for this one to go in to any challenges, but as I was challenge blog hopping it fitted nicely in at:

Well Lily - I wish you health, wealth and happiness.  Welcome to the world.

Miss Smartie Pants

Well it's all their fault over on I Love Promarkers.  This week's challenge is use this photo for inspiration.  Only I could see this picture and think of Smarties (you know when you have a serious chocolate issue when you see chocolate in everything). "Only Smarties have the answer" !  Oh they don't make sweet adverts like they used to...
Then I popped over to Kenny K's Krafty Girlz to admire their use of the new work force digi stamps.  There, in the bizarre twist that is my inspirational world, came this week's creation for  both challenges.  So I Love Promarkers - thanks for the Smarties inspiration (I might just have to go and buy a tube too), and thanks Kenny K's Krafty Girlz for having two parts to your challenge this week - this one has strictly no flowers.

At the same time, it fits neatly in over at Passion for Promarkers.  Their challenge this week is "new beginnings".  New love in this case.
Then I continued on my rounds...and visited Paper Sundaes.  Tip top - their challenge is Valentine !  Don't mind if I do - thank you !
So, without further ado, may I introduce you to Miss Smartie Pants...

I've got the January Browns

I just love playing with various shades of one colour...and this little image from Saturated Canary just cried out sepia to me.  I am lucky enough to have been commissioned for this card and I'm not sure who was more pleased with it, me or the purchaser !
Anyway because I used the little buttons on it I get to enter it in to Passion for Promarkers weekly challenge.  This week's theme is recycled.  And as the Isle of Wight also starts it's wheelie bin recycling rounds this week I guess that was my hint.

Ooh, ooh, ooh...I've just popped over to Saturated Canary and this one fits in on challenge 9 - the use of punches and die cuts.  So without further ado...I'm off there right now to post this creation on their blog.
